KioshiYes, usually higher impedance (ohms) mean you'll need a better amp (because most embedded amps on PCs/laptops/smartphones/whatever only can drive low impedance high sensitivity headphones). But higher impedance usually means more refined sound and controlled bass (just in this case).
Eli35Thank you, I definitley agree. I need an amp for mine. I was curious however if anyone knew if there was a difference in price and why are the 80 Ohms black but others not?
KioshiQuick DAC and amp suggestion: Topping D30 DAC + Schiit Magni 3 amp. The D30 is way better than the Schiit Modi 2, by far, and the Magni 3 is the price-performance king right now. If you're on a tight budget, Fiio E10k DAC/amp combo is great for the price and you can use it later as a cheap DAC (better than most embedded DACs on typical consumer electronics).
Eli35Oh thats great thank you. I may go with the e10k just because of price right now. But why not recommend the Schitt Fulla 2, is that a good option? I should probably mention that I am looking for this to use my headphones on my PC for music, movies and of course gaming. And I do use a ModMic with the headphones as well.
KioshiE10k is cheaper and slightly better sounding, according to some people. Don't know too much about them, make some research and decide by yourself which one you like the most. Both won't disappoint you, and work well with this kind of headphones.
KioshiYou may also want to consider SMSL's budget offering. I like it, but I don't have an E10K with which to compare it.
SMSL SD-793II (quite the mouthful)
