They seriously need to consider making the headphone cable detachable. Stop soldering it Beyerdynamic! I loved the DT 880s! They were one of my favorite headphones but had problems losing sound on one channel after a while and had to send them in for repairs. Cables go bad or get damaged. It happens all the time. Figure this out already! So many other companies already have.
It's the main reason why I'm holding back from getting this or most of the Beyerdynamic headphones.
I agree. The non-detachable cable is the single reason I've written off the Beyerdynamic Pro line. A soldered cable is almost exclusively the first thing to fail on a pair of headphones that has it. I ended up buying the Sennheiser HD 6XXs on here, and I also grabbed a pair of Monolith M1060s from Monoprice. I'm actually amazed that the soldered cable on my 7-year-old (gen 1) ATH-M50s is still fine.
