For the money, they get a 5. They are comfortable and sound great for this price range.
Very comfortable fitting headphones. They keep sounding better and better as they break in more. Very smooth overall sound.

pkiulaThanks. I might give them a try. I have several decent headphones, amps & dacs. As time allows I am going to build a couple of headphone amps. I love listening and comparing all these "toys".

Kocho-ShinobuFor my ears, yes. S9 can be wired too, if one wants it that way. That's how I mostly use it. I found the 880 a bit bright in the higher frequencies. Both are excellent but Pioneer/Onkyo just have a certain sound that I find both musical and warm.
