Nothing all that special
So I have a set of Sennheiser HD598s, paired with a Topping D90 DAC and a Schiit Audio Jotenheim. The reason I got these was because as much as I love my 598s, they have two small issues; 1) they don’t stay on my head & 2) a bit of a “light touch” bass. So I thought I’d try these! They arrived quickly and I couldn’t wait to try them out. Initially I thought that they looked well made, solid. However, after a bit of time with them I found a few things annoying enough with them which left me wanting to send them back (I didn’t - UK returns are to expensive!). Firstly, where the metal headband attached to the left headphone it would “click” as it moved around side to side; annoying but not a dealbreaker. Next up, these things weren’t going to fall off, but the downside is that they actually hurt my head where the headband initially made contact, ouch. And then finally, the sound; they’re good, but are they any better than my 598’s? Marginally, if at all. As such, I’ll likely just look to resell them, or give them away. Disappointed, for the first time with a Drop product.

StarvingDragonyou sure don't have them too tight? try to loosen the length they go out of the band even if it seemed to you they were perfectly aligned to your ears before.

kiw_ii598's are already considered excellent headphones so I'm not sure what you were expecting. I have 3 pairs of headphones which all sound very different from each other, and that's because I did my research. If you wanted bass you would have gotten the 770's not the 880's which are known for being the sweet spot while the 990's are known for being bright to the point of being unpleasant for some.
