I got these last week and after just two days the left driver went dead. I contacted drop and beyer USA (I live in Egypt, so returning them is not cheap). Beyer told me it’s a failed driver which sometimes happen. I’m so disappointed. Any solution? Can I change the driver?

YsharafDrop/beyer should pay return shipping. You should check to see if this is the case.

JaalanUnfortunately no, drop don’t cover international shipping, and from Egypt it costs around 100$ or more. They only give you 25$ credit if you decided to keep the damaged headphone. I contacted Beyerdynamic USA and after making sure that my DT880 are new and in guarantee they sent me a new driver for free and I did solder everything with the help of an engineer friend and the wonderful 880 is back in business. The problem here is that this is common with the Beyerdynamic in general and this is the second time it happens to my with the 880-250. One from amazon and one from Drop.

JaalanOh no, I have an aramex local address in NY and many other places around the world. You buy anything and ship it locally to that address where aramex receives it and ship it to your place for economical fees, a service provided by aramex called shop and ship. Total cost of shipping is around 11$ for half a kg. However, the opposite way cannot apply, I mean to ship from Egypt to anywhere is not shop and ship service and so very expensive, not only aramex but also DHL, Fedex etc...

YsharafOh wow, thats really awesome! Im glad that you dont have to pay huge shipping fees to recieve products. Is the transition from brick and mortar stores to online shopping a big inconvience for people in other countries? Or is there not as much transition there?

JaalanThere is of course, in Egypt it substantial but still not like developed countries, still we are way to go, especially so that we don’t have such products readily available like hifi and other sophisticated electronic products, but household products could be bought on line and shipped to your home.
