Wade67jweDamn man, that's crazy. Is Massdrop always like this? I don't think I've found a, "deal" yet, that hasn't been same price or cheaper on amazon. And going through Amazon gets you the ability to return your item, usually some kind of a warranty, and 7 day or less shipping. Why does Massdrop exist? Do they actually come through on good deals sometimes?

Tortugan_TorresNot all items from my experience. I've found few listings on amzn that are cheaper, however some will say that amzn is known to sell fakes so its riskier going through amzn. I can't confirm nor deny this claim. Now, I do buy items on massdrop only if its cheaper than amzn or can't find the price elsewhere. I pulled the trigger on a gaming mouse today, but with Wade67jwe's recommendation ended up canceling and getting it elsewhere. I'm no business expert, but I think they have to sell some listings at above price to make sure there is a positive profit margin. With that, they can have manufacturing companies making deals with massdrop on researched hot items (through polls I'm guessing) and offering those for less or having them create massdrop exclusive items.

Tortugan_TorresThe only big deal they've had that I know of is the Sennheiser HD 6XX, which they had for $100+ cheaper but sold out really quickly and the site went down.
I pretty much joined to see if they had anything decent other than that. I honestly really don't think they do. You're generally better off getting off Amazon. If they do a re-drop that is actually a deal, it would be worth it, but who knows on the HD6XX. Otherwise it's fun to look at stuff, maybe comment a bit, but there's no point in buying because they usually lose to Amazon, for the reasons you state.
I've heard Massdrop used to be better in the past, they'd have less deals but they were actual deals and for good items. Now they have a ton of stuff on but nothing is a good deal.
