What would be a good portable Dac/Amp to use with my HD6xx and Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone?
I am new to this hobby. I purchased a HD6XX and plan to use it with my Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone, that has a 3.5mm jack. I was wondering if I needed a portable dac/amp or just a portable amp and if so what would one recommend? Any assistance one could provide, would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Haz

Focal Elear Phillips Fidelio x2hr PSB M4U 2 Oppo Pm-3 Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro 1MORE tripple driver over-ear
What I finally puchase mostly depends on how much time im willing to throw in on saving up.
Do you have any suggestions on that? :)
As to the Fidelio X2HR, I almost pulled the trigger right before I went with the DT1990. Maybe my next head phone. I was a little hesitant because some reviewers state that the Fidelio X2HR puts out a little bass distortion but I may check out for my self. Another to consider are the Monolith m565 paired with the shure1540 pads. With a 66mm Planar magnetic driver and the pads swapped for the shures1540 the sound is on steroids, literally!! I love mine. It won't be analytical like the dt1990 but it will be the best clear bass pounding machines you buy, a step down from my Monolith m1060c modded open back from being closed originally. Hope this helps.
I have originally taken the tripple driver over ear into considerqtion since wherever I have looked, i have only heard good stuff about them. Maybe I am just not that found in the industry at that time but they first seemed to me like a convenience-store bargain-bin product just from the name of the company and the headphones themelves. I am glad to hear positive stuff about them even here tho since they are the most affordable of the bunch and im short on money right now since purchasing the fiio DAP. Sadly these headphones are not available in any dedicated stores in my area here in germany and from the pictures on amazon ther seem rather tiny to me which would be kind of a hassle since I absolutely despise on-ear and my ears themselves are rather elephant like. Well how comfortable do they fit for you?
Also if you had the choice between them and the dt1990 pro for progressive rock, blues rock, classical, electronic/trance/elctro funk, and diverse metal genres reaching from melodic to death (depending on your own experiences of course :D) which one would you prefer?
In terms of external headphone amps I have not really had the time to delve deeper into that subject since I would only call myself financially independent for about a month now being an university student. But I guess I will take my time trying different stuff out when I am back at my local HiFi store. In the end it all comes down to our own personal preferences.
Thank you very much for your time and you insights and have a nice day :)
Thank you very much for your insights tho :)
