Oh i see. The 990s are really nice. Been thinking about getting the k7xx. Will be cool to see your post on the 990s and see how it compares to the AKGs.

will update the post when i received the DT990.
but for G5X experiences with AKG K7XX, i can only say that after listening to a concert with FLAC quality with these 2 combos... i suddenly felt my spotify subscription is a waste of time and i should énrich'my song library with FLAC quality only...
its the first time i can really tell that a concert singer voice is muffled (with standard compression) and very bright and detailed (especially when ballads solo) with FLAC on these amps...
on the other hand, i tried it with my PC M/B sound (Z270 extreme 4 by asrock, which is specified to be able to drive up to 600ohms) but even with AKG paltry low ohms, i can't get enough 'loudness'and just sounded like a tin headphone.
for G5X though, i think you know already what i felt.

So happy you got to hear the power of high quality sound and recording. Spotify is really low quality. 320mp3 is really good. Easy to get and change the file name like artist, album and track number. Flac is best quality as you now know. Check out Bandcamp.com for awesome music and HQ files.
