https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DT990Pro--beyerdynamic-dt-990-pro-250-ohm-open-back-studio-headphones artificially inflating the retail price to flatter your sale price is a garbage tactic.
CalaverasgrandeMight help if you posted the correct model, these are 175 on Amazon. And that sweetwater link isn't even a good deal for the 250 ohm... I paid 145 for mine on Amazon many years ago.
ElectronicVicesit's 250 not 80 ohms. BFD. Sweetwater is never the best deal, they specialize in good service. This makes it a good indicator of actual retail price. As opposed to cherry picked Amazon or Newegg listings which may be grey market or just a momentary fluctuation in price. But hey, if you want to argue over pointless semantics, lets debate coiled vs straight cables.
CalaverasgrandeJust pointing out that you lack attention to detail and are quite arrogant about it, which makes you look quite foolish. Your follow-up doesn't help, being wrong and defensive about it only makes you look worse.
ElectronicVicesThere is no difference in price between teh various ohmage models of the DT990 Pro unless you are talking about an aggregator site like Amazon or Newegg. For single retailer sites like Sweetwater, it's consistent across models. You are obviously aching for a fight. And I've already offered to have a spat over cables types. I hate coiled cables. They tangle too easily! Headphones should only be sold with straight cables. Your turn.
CalaverasgrandeIf you've followed Beyer for a while like I have you would know that the various models do differ in price. The 80 ohm almost always commanding a higher price. There is also a difference in amping requirements, so yes the specific impedance matters. I will get you a shovel, will make this hole digging activity of yours more efficient.

ElectronicVicesI've seen the 250 ohm model under $120 on Amazon, brand new. For the 80 ohm model, this is a great price. I wish it came with a case like the drops for the Beyerdynamic Premiums but I don't see any info indicating that, unfortunately.
JJDeviloperThe Pro 250's tend to be the cheapest across the 770,880,990 line. Although the chrome 880 seems to be pretty cheap most times.
