ChophyExactly. People that skip them could never understand how technically good these are, especially for less than $150. I think they see the price and think it has to do anything with their capabilities.
They are truly professional headphones, not consumer toys. This is as far as one could go in the chain, and wouldn't be missing anything crucial compared to pricier models.
I love mine, and I also own the T90 and Amiron Home. The latter present music differently, but the DT 990 aren't worse-sounding or produce lesser sound quality.
ChophyI think they are regarded as entry level based on price...plus there are many more headphone designs well above entry level than these. Take planars for example.
raansire7If you want to do any monitoring or so on you should look elsewhere. They are far too bright. Which makes it insanely good for listening for footsteps in games. The imaging is also amazing so honestly, a great pick for gaming.
