I got mine shipped to Australia around 2 days ago. Low and behold, These beauties were waiting at my doorstep.
Ok now here's the thing, I'm no professional audiophile and I dont know much about audio but I've been testing these for the past 2 days and at low bass at high volumes on the right side channel (Using my PC's Onboard Sound [MSI G45, Some realtek model]) brings something like a Bass rattle that gets very annoying.
BTW headphones are extremely mesmerising but then the bass rattle ruins my experience :/
I'd appreciate any feedback from other users as I wasn't really expecting it.
SIDENOTE: I also have the Aune T1 drop coming to me, So what should be my next course of action?
Anyways thanks for any reply @MassdropCommunity
EDIT: Been doing a little googling and research into this and found a person that is in an extremely similar situation to me: http://electronics.forumsee.com/a/m/s/p12-37976-0162310--dt990-bass-rattle.html

lazioFrom this drop my price was around 303 Australian dollars which included shipping. Aus to Us dollar is around 1.1:1 Ratio. The cheapest model of this I could find in Australia was 400 dollars so when I saw this I snapped it up quickly. But In US dollars this drop was 239.00.
In Regards to my problem I am currently dealing with Massdrops Great customer service and it is nearly resolved :)

BecauseImHappyI am in Aus as well. Just got the DT990 600ohm today from gumtree for 190. The owner brought it from Amazon for less than 8 months. Now waiting for the Aune T1 but the status still shows pending. However, when I plug DT990 to my PC is sounds quite good.

laziowith secondhand headphones i got ripped off so im always edgy with used equipment nowadays. I went with a new pair of fones and i only have a slight problem.
i also got the aune t1 because i wanted the benefits of an external dac for sound quality on my pc but also if i wanted to listen to music whilst away from the pc but still inside I could hook it up to an ipod.

BecauseImHappyI have bought this same headphone from Amazon and after a few months of usage, the left channel volume was very low. Fortunately Beyerdynamic Germany was good enough to provide the warranty to repair the headphone in Australia.
This headphone is 600ohm and is very hard to drive. In fact I was almost sold it because I was disappoint with the headphone. My Xonar Essence STX has a gain setting for 600ohm but despite that it was not enough to please me. I am now very please with this headphone and it will need a more powerful amp than the Aune T1. The Bravo Audio does a better job but I am looking at the Woo audio WA2 or the Bottlehead crack.

BecauseImHappyDamn that's not good news about the bass rattle. Did some reading on head-fi and seems like it's a fairly common problem with Beyers. Definitely going to have to check the drivers using test tones.
