I wonder how these are different than the Bayerdynamic Byron Wired Premium in-Ear Headset at $33 USD S&S by Amazon? Seems like the same unit, but with a better mic/remote on the Byron.

I'm tempted to try, but I already have a set of Beyerdynamic IDX 160 IEMs and I don't think I'll get anything new here... Please correct me if I'm wrong.
FreakyFredHi, in comparison to the Byron these are the (much) older model. Should have a decent sound, with smooth treble.
I do have the DX 160. Also smooth, and VERY bassy. The 102 are supposed to be a step down from the 160, which is newer and has a higher MSRP. At the time Beyer presented the 160 as "our best to date".
The 102 should be a pleasant listen according to reviews. Check out the What Hifi review from several years ago.
how the heck is this an IEM?
I am a huge fan of Beyerdynamic. Own several of their microphones and headphones. Which are top shelf!
But these are simply not 'in ear monitors'.
Beyer describes them as "In-ear headset for smartphones with a powerful sound"
also 'with fascinating bass'.
Come on MD quit treating your customers like suckers.
I have these bought off retail. This pair has good deep bass with good quality. Also has a warm sound signature. If you like listening to male vocals or jazz this is nice. It ain’t harsh sounding on the highs which is a slight turn off for some.
If anyone is wondering, the SoundMAGIC E80 is still on a league of its own in terms of sound quality.
BrodyB@BrodyB yes, apparently the world will end if they make them compatible for Android users. Hell, in this day and age, they should make them cross compatible
