LQDForceI've got a decent tube amp for my DT880 600, not OTL (it also powers speakers). Likely I will let the DT880 go if the T1 does everything better. The efficiency on the T1 is so much higher than the DT880 that I'm expecting to have to turn down the gain, but who knows, I may have to get a good OTL amp for them. Before I get any other amps I want to get an O2 / ODAC to try out with them. I'm sure that drop will come around again some day.

cloudI sold my DT880 when I got the T1, the T1 are better in every aspect and are a direct upgrade for the DT880.
Kept the DT990 though, completely different sound signature and much more fun.
The T1 are fairly easy to drive, but they require a LOT of voltage to really shine. That's the primary reason as to why tube amps sound better with them.
Didn't like the O2 with any of these really, they made them sound too bright and tinny for my taste. Would recommend either the Bottlehead Crack, Little Dot MK IV or Darkvoice 336SE . Between the three, the Crack sounds best IMO.

LQDForceMy only issue with the T1 is they cable is really stiff and rough where they split the cable in two and hurt the neck. I still listen to my 990s pros and 770s. I think better not usually easy to define and I always find myself wanting to switch regardless of the level of headphone.
I haven't heard the Darkvoice but I have one comming. I am hoping its heavy warmness is going to complement the T1s.

LQDForceI have an MP-301 MK2 that uses 6L6GC tubes that works fairly well with the DT880. I can't come close to using its full output. I also have an M-Audio Fast Track II (beside the tube amp) that I use most of the time. The T1 is even more efficient than the DT880 by a fair bit so volume will not be an issue. The Fast Track II has 24-bit 48khz processing. I find the output to be clean as would be expected of a recording/production gear. If the O2/ODAC doesn't pair well with the T1 then I may be in for an unhappy surprise. On paper the ODAC should be a bit better than the Fast Track II as should the O2. I like accurate reproduction for technically demanding (attack/decay/noise) electronic if not most modern music and tubes for jazz and orchestral though sometimes I use it for ambient. That said, I listen to organ music on an SS amp as it sounds good to me to get the accurate tight deep bass of the big organ pipes. I'm still looking forward to the T1. More detail is always appreciated in by book. I'll keep an eye out for a Bottlehead Crack kit or built amp at a decent price. I would like an OTL amp and that one seems to get high praise.
