BroooooobiI tried the E7+E9 combo with the T1.
The E9 will have enough power, but the sound will be a bit on the bright side, with narrow soundstage and somewhat rolled off lows.
It's not a bad combo, just the bare minimum.
The T1 need a much better amp to (barely) justify its high price tag of $850 (MSRP is a joke).
I think the DT880 @ 600 will be a much better value for your gear.
BroooooobiGood for him then, but you're better off with the DT880 if you even consider the E09K as your amp.
P.S - I had the E7+E9 when I got my DT880 , upgraded the amp in less than 2 weeks.
Stated exactly why in my previous post.
BroooooobiI'm perfectly happy with my setup - AMB y2 dac , beta22 amp (DIY) and of course the T1 (recabled for balanced XLR).
Cable is a big improvement. not because it's balanced, but because beyerdynamic screwed up with the Neutrik connector !!!

Read this , I recommend anyone with basic electronics/soldering skills to try out this simple mod.
BroooooobiI was just asking a bloke the exact same thing on the head-fi forums.
His suggestion for a relatively cheap thing was the Audio-GD NFB-11, external DAC/Head amp,

website was kind of sketchy, won't lie. Lots of badly translated things. But the head-fi forums generally has their crap together.
BroooooobiI'm planning on using this with a Schiit Valhalla. From the extensive research I've done it looks like a good combo without stepping into a WA2. Looks like you'll get 90+% there at about 30% of the cost. I'll post impressions when I have the T1s.
BroooooobiAs I said, you guys are better off with the DT880 and at least a decent DAC + amp .
There is no point in buying $1K headphones just to have them sound like a $300 headphone...
LQDForceI have the DT 990 600 ohm already. It sounds fine but the mid range is super recessed, good for music like assassin's creed sound tracks, but not so good with vocals.
BroooooobiI was referring to the DT880 , not 990 !!
The DT990 are super fun headphones, but they are V-shaped so recessed mids is the tradeoff for extended lows and highs.
Still love 'em though, decided to keep them even though my 'endgame' headphones being the T1 .
P.S - The AC 1-2 soundtracks are awesome, as well as all soundtracks made by Jesper Kyd.
LQDForceThere is a perfectly valid reason to buying a headphone with the intent of upgrading your system in the future, but with the purchase of a $1000 headphone one tends to be short on cash afterwards :)
LQDForceIn fact, I just checked on the Crack amp, it says T1 is a great match up under the great headphones match up section? Do you think they lied to us? T1 is not a great match up with T1?
BroooooobiAs I said earlier, power-wise, the Crack does 'work' well with the T1 , and has plenty of power to drive them to a high volume.
The T1 are very flat, neutral, revealing and detailed heaphones.
The Crack is warm and tube-ey sounding amp. more laid-back (especially without the speedball!) and is a better match for the HD600/HD650 than for this type of headphones with similar sound signature as the T1.
I do sometimes enjoy my Crack with the T1 for modern rock music, but for classical and acoustic music this combo just doesn't sound right. It makes the T1 sound too warm and bright, and the instruments don't sound natural at all.
