Did they cancel all orders?? I just received a message saying they were back ordered,, here is your money back too bad. I was really looking forward to these. Damn MassDrop!!
Bob3600I can't say with certainty that they cancelled all the orders, but my order too was cancelled. A bit disappointed, but there will be another one in time.
JJDeviloperThanks JJ!! Not really worried too much about color as long as they sound good. They should have removed all the choices as they sold out. That would make too much sense. I wrote to Drop but I am sure I will not hear from them before the Drop is over. I went ahead and picked the clear:)
Hey! Thanks for the response, it is helpful. I have the Kinera's I really enjoy them, so I'm glad that the DM6's aren't going to be exactly the same. Yes, the IDUN's are visually very nice, and sound wise I really like them. Now I'm anticipating these to listen and do some comparisons!
mr_mwrYou can read my reviews/comments. In a nutshell: DM6 is detailed, clear, and accurate, a bit sparkly in the upper treble, while the Idun is the chillest, most relaxing, just warm enough IEM I've ever heard, like a planar but without the extra oomph, so just right for melodic, soothing beats.
And Massdrop who is trying to sell off an old stock of DM6, a chinoiserie that costs $ 5 to produce, without even giving a guarantee. So when that plastic thing breaks down in 6 months, you'll have thrown $ 139 in the trash.
PistiThese are one of the best IEMs with detachable cable I have ever heard. They might be cheap to make but they are terrific. There has been some QA issues as of late late year with many Chinese manufacturers, and maybe that's why you had a bad experience. I got mine off a good seller on AliExpress custom made before that happened. One pair of IEMs I got from Drop, the TFZ S2 Pro, came dead on arrival, Drop took care of it. Sorry you had that experience, I cannot report the same. I have been refraining from getting Chinese manufactured products since that incident, before the COVID-19 outbreak happened, but I am guessing the issue with TFZ was mostly (hopefully) an isolated issue. To be safe, maybe if I purchase IEMs for now I will get them metal shelled, until this clears. There are great options on Drop, the BLON BL03, BLON BL05, and the TFZ S2 Pro, to name a few. Maybe BGVP will get on board and make metal shelled ones too, since it's harder to mess up the shell (the issue I heard about were poorly molded plastic/resin shells that cracked easily). Anyways, hopefully some of this will help you. The other IEMs I listed are under $40, so fairly low risk. Good luck!
PistiI would like to see you manufacture these for 5 bucks. I am quite certain they are hand assembled rather than mass produced. I get your point about Drop selling an older model by today's standards but let's not cheapen them that much. They are still a competent IEM and likely worth the asking price to many folks.
I’ve got a pair of DM6 very lightly used in box that’s up for sale if anyone is interested. It’s the clear purple ones, so very neat looking. Shipping within the US.
