rantngThe model names doesn’t regard to the number of drivers but rather the sequential progression of their models. DM7 is the seventh model of their iem lineup hence the name
JohnchparkIf that's the case then they haven't really stuck to this naming method. The IEM prior to the DM6 was the DMG. Plus they also have a DS1 IEM as well as the DN1. There's also the MRY6. Plus apparently they now have the V12, which derives its name from its 12 BA drivers (that's 12 total - 6 per side). It's all rather confusing.
rantngThey went by the name "Sidy" before. You can find info about the BGVP DM5, and then you can go back to at least DM3 if you look for Sidy DMx. But yes, it's rather confusing.
EseBI wasn’t sure if it was 6 or 12. They have the drivers laid out in a 2-2-2 frequency arrangement, but I guess they’re dual-BAs, which would make 12. Again, confusing. For most companies, the number indicates the number of drivers per side, but then you have others like KZ where it denotes the number of drivers in total.
rantngThe DM6 and DM7 are the flagship models. From DM6 point to present it makes sense.....besides the 12 BA model. So if you look at the DM7 as the budget flagship it makes sense.
