How is this ultralight? This is gimmicky hipster camping gear.

ultraLI agree that this is a gimmick. It's a pretty bad charger and there are much better, cheaper and lighter wood stoves out there ( think Emberlit).

ultraLHow much of any of this stuff is ultralight? (Ok, the tent stakes but that's it).

pmankow@jimbobwey has some good points about good uses of the Biolite stove system. But @pmankow is absolutely right - this isn't ultralight. So why is it here? We brought it to the community partly because of popularity in polls and of a previous Biolite Drop.
Additionally, we try to offer a range of products that will attract community members in the various stages of going light. It actually would be great on a 5-day canoe trip in the Boundary Waters - you could grill fresh fish and drink unlimited hot tea and coffee every day, without the weight or worry of carrying fuel. But for others, this could be the first fire stove they buy. Maybe sometime down the road the feel confident enough to try out the Vargo Titanium Hex Stove or the Firebox Nano 3. Now they're going light!
We are working hard behind the scenes to bring more light and ultralight products to this community. Keep a look out for drops in the near future for great stuff from ULA, Lawson Equipment, Borah Gear and more.

DannyMilksAgain, for those of us who purchased a Biolite in the last drop, can we get an option for just the accessories? If I had known this was coming, I would have waited.

DannyMilksI have a biolite stove just to keep in my car for those side trips to nowhere in particular! I need to get a stove I can pack, but this is just my every day, going fishing and want something hot to drink, or fry up some fish, stove...Takes up little room in the car, and is fairly easy to use.
