Is the Alpine Carbon Cork worth the additional $10.99? It saves roughly 2oz., but are there other advantages or disadvantages?

I've owned and still several heavy and long twist-lock aluminum poles that have never broke. Yeah, heavy and long. So pick your weapons carefully.
I've finally settled on one of the BD "Z" Aluminum series (light and short when collapsed), and haven't had a failure yet in 19 months.
Good luck!
