great product. But the price isn't that awesome. You can find it at about the same price everywhere (REI, backcountry...). Stil, it's a good start for MS getting into climbing gear. Just wish the prices were more in tune with what we've learned to expect from drops.

At all the previous aforementioned stores the 60 m goes for 149.95. My total cost with MD is shy of $127. To me $23 is more than a few dollars at this price point. We obviously differ.

These recent BD drops have been terrible for Canadians. On MD the 60M rope is $154USD shipped to me in 3-4 weeks, or I can get it locally for $165CAD plus the cost of gas on a 10min drive. It's a shame because these are great products...

Hope to see more climbing gear....this is a start...but...maybe not a superb deal though. Kinda misleading, I wish you would stop doing that, MD.Basic, Solid rope. Handles well. Stacks great once it's got some fur on it.

Okay here's some price checks on this rope.
The drop features a default 35m rope for $60 plus $37 shipping, for a total of $96. The 35m sells for $80 on Blackdiamond.com plus $6 shipping for a total of ~$86
The 40m sells for $68 with a total of $104 Blackdiamond sells it for $90 plus $6 shipping for a total of ~$96
The 60m sells for $118 with a total of $155 Blackdiamond sells it for $150 plus free shipping.
Blackdiamond offers free shipping on anything over $100 so if you bought the 40m and wanted free shipping you could add a nice rope bag to carry your fresh new rope around and qualify for the free shipping.
The MSRP displayed under the price is vastly inaccurate and designed to misinform. This is all on the black diamond website and its definitely possible to find cheaper deals on the same rope. Should you be getting this rope? I don't know. But you should know that this is barely a discount and that the prices are misleading.

Whoops, sorry I totally forgot I live in Canada and the majority of users are USA based. All the prices are in USD but I did only figure out Canadian shipping. Make sure to do your own research as well!

I'm interested, as I have the 60m version of this rope and it's awesome and I want a 40m for gym climbs, yet the $10 shipping moves it to $80 for the 40m; I can currently get it for that price from a reputable vendor through their online store (notably with a coupon, which everyone might not have!), and have it sooner. :(
This is a great rope; works well, doesn't feel heavy, works effectively (read: Quick, smooth) through a GriGri 2 and the newer GriGri+, I haven't tried it on my atc yet. I wish you folks had more climbing-specific drops. I'm going to keep an eye on this, maybe we'll get more commits...

deezelbowzAlright, so others have mentioned it, but... Moosejaw has the 40m, which is the length I would get for gym and some outdoor climbing, for about the same price...but right meow, instead of later.
