High mountain tents are certainly a different sort of beast. First off, this tent's primary function is to keep you alive overnight while weighing as little as possible – not necessarily to provide you with comfort. The wedge shape and internal pole structure allow it to be pitched on the narrowest of ledges (as seen in the photo), places where a traditional backpacking tent would never fit. The geometry of the tent is also incredibly resistant to high winds and snow loading. The single wall, in addition to providing weight savings, is extremely breathable. As a result, it is not even entirely waterproof, only highly water-resistant (as stated in the description). This makes it unsuitable for many typical backpacking environments such as areas with high humidity or the potential for heavy rainfall. However, it is close to perfect for a high mountain environment in which the air is dry and precipitation typically occurs in the form of snow.
