Popular with search-and-rescue crews for its rugged design and super-bright LEDs, the Black Diamond Storm has been updated in 2017 with a 350-lumen output (up from 250) and three night-vision modes (up from two). The housing is completely sealed from both dust and water, with a secure latch closure for extra protection while hiking, climbing, biking, skiing, and more. Eight different lighting modes allow for customized lighting in any situation. The red LED comes in handy for campers and photographers looking for nearby illumination that won’t affect distant vision, while the green LED has a longer run time and is often used by hunters. Along with PowerTap technology for instant brightness adjustments, there’s Brightness Memory, which allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to full power.
