Well, shit 😣 Missed an email from MD, just noticed this was moved to my canceled transactions for a payment issue.....guess I don't get any flatware due to technical difficulties, because there's no way it was a problem with the funds through my PayPal payment method.
This is the second or third time that's happened (but the first time I didn't notice it in time to fix it)
Anyone else have this issue with payments not going through to MD? I don't even see an attempt was made in my PayPal or the account it draws from when this happens

KavikSorry to hear about that. If you hit "request" you will get a notification when these come back towards the end of this month.

kstokleyWhen these come back can we have an option for a set of twelve? I already bought the set of 20 with the plan of getting more the next time around but not sure if I want to get the 8 piece and have sets for 7 or the 16 piece and have sets for 9. The odd number kinda throws me off

kstokleyIs it true that these rust? I’ve just joined the drop but no point spending $200 Aus if they are going to rust...

Kelseyanne20They are stainless steel, so they will not rust any more than the silverware that you probably already have. Depending on how the production line is set up, it is possible that rust may show up but it would be from non-stainless steel particles from other areas of the production line or the dies used. It cleans off with scrub pad very easily.

Larold24I didn't end up buying them, so I can't speak from personal experience.... But what I can say, based on the pics others submitted, is that I'm not totally surprised by this
Stainless steel becomes stainless when the chromium in the metal oxidizes on the surface, forming a barrier between the iron and air/water. When you have a piece like this, where the black scale is intentionally left on, it can absolutely rust around those areas if not properly cared for, as there's no clean metal surface for the chromium to coat.
Of the provided pics, I didn't see any where the rust occurred randomly on the polished surfaces.
Clean them up with a non abrasive scouring pad (NOT steel wool) and some barkeeper's friend (or other citric acid based cleaner), and it should be fine. Then dry more thoroughly in the future, barkeeper's friend again as needed, and eventually it should stabilize

KavikI will try that. I have not heard of Renaissance Wax but will check it out. Thanks. Don’t know chemis very well...only know that after either dishwasher or hand washing I see oxidation. Otherwise I like this set. Thanks.
