These have to be hand washed and dried! THEY RUST! I saw a thread about waxing them with carnival wax. Tried that. Didn’t help. Water cannot be left to dry on these things.

Larold24Do you mean Renaissance Wax? You'll need to be 110% certain you have ALL active rust removed, and all moisture gone (try heat, or a wipe with acetone, not a towel) before applying a wax. Also see my other comment to you, in the other conversation you replied to. More info there on how/why stainless can rust.
How are you washing /drying them with and without the wax? I assume no wax will stand up to the heat of a dishwasher
I have plenty of full carbon knives that don't rust the way some of these pictures are showing IF properly taken care of
I also have had plenty of "stainless" pieces over the years rust on me if NOT properly taken care of

KavikI have cheap stainless flatwear that I have had for over 30 years and not one piece has ever rusted, even when I've left them out on the picnic table overnight in a thunderstorm I have a few high carbon steel chef knives that I wash and dry the same exact way I washed and dried these and they have never rusted on me.

memaherTrying to keep this straight is gonna be fun, since we're jumping back and forth in multiple posts lol
There are different types of stainless, as I'm sure you already know. Some are more stainless than others. But like I was saying in the other thread, sometimes it's just a question of whether the surface gets scratched or not. It's why sometimes you get random little rust spots out of nowhere on stainless flatware or pans when the areas around it are just fine.
In my other OTHER conversion with Larold (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/black-forge-flatware-sets/talk/2117413?utm_source=linkshare&referer=94FC7J) I talked about why you might be seeing rust on the handle of these, but not the blades, as with the black scale left on there's no clean surface for the chromium oxide reaction to take place and form that barrier that makes them stainless. Just my guess based on what I've read about the properties of stainless, and what I've seen in person.... But nothing so far screams to me that these aren't made from what they claim

KavikFrom the Black Forge website:
Dishwasher Safe but only if Dishwasher which NOT contains Chlorine and Lemon ,It is not safe for the forged Handle ONLY of these flateware,)RECOMMENDED HAND WASH WITH SOAP AND LET THEN DRY OR CLEAN WITH SOFT CLOTH.
So so I guess that’s what I will have to do.

Larold24Interesting find, I hadn't spotted that before! And considering almost all public tap water contains some level of chlorine.....😟
@kyleemj or @mark m or whoever, can we get this updated in the product page to help clear up some of the concerns here?
