If your beard is so long you think it needs oil, then what it really needs is a pair of clippers. Seriously, the Ted Kaczynski /1840s gold prospector look is a huge personal-grooming fail.

I got in on the Jun '15 drop, back when it was just Blackbird Beard Oil, without all the schmancy options and descriptions. I wasn't sold on the scent, but the wife was very impressed, so mission accomplished.
Then in May '16 came The Past and The Future oil drops, so I went for one each. To me, The Past smells like cooking oil. The Future has a slightly sweet scent that is not unpleasant. The wife was less than impressed with both options as well.
All three oils did/do a fine job keeping the beard looking good. I tend to apply far more than what's usually recommended and a bottle seems to hang around a year or so. The caveat to that being, I usually don't have my beard year round (somewhere between 3 and 6 months I take a hatchet to it).
I'm going to give The Present a try this go around, with guarded optimism.

TomaCzar"The Present" is the same as their old "Blackbird Beard Oil," as far as I can tell (same scent description and smells the same to me). So if you and your wife liked that before, you should like The Present.
I have a love/hate relationship with "The Past." Some days it smells SO good to me and other days I think I smell like dog food / a dog bed. The tradeoff of reeking of cedar.

TinkerTomI got Past and Future (for $63 incl shipping) and I like both. As a label reader, I was impressed with the ingredients, as well as the smell and the smoothing effect. I think I like the smell of Past a little more, although I know what you mean about it being a love/hate thing. Now I want to try Present.
