Hey, what's the point of these dashcam's? Why not just use a GoPro Hero or something like that?

GoPro's aren't designed to be mounted in the car permanently. Also, GoPro's don't have things like "parking mode" (which will automatically save cached video if your parked car is nudged in a parking lot). Pretty sure you can't run the GoPro continuously, whereas the Blackvue will automatically "eat its own tail" and record over old footage once the card is full.

steveNo, the blackvue needs to be plugged into the car to get power to run.
