Got a delivery note from Canada Post for my package. Great news. On the bad side despite assurances from two Massdrop staff members my delivery notice had a bill attached to it for almost $40. Presumably for brokerage and sales taxes. If I knew this I would have asked to have the item shipped to my US address or not buy it at all. This extra $40 makes this transaction not a deal anymore.

To_desiTotal charged by Canada Post to me is $39.76. Tax is 12% where I am. The camera was $239 USD which works out to $248 CAN at today's exchange rate. 12% of $248 = $29.76. I assume the remaining $10 is brokerage. There were indicators made that no additional fees would be payable such as, "Additional brokerage and duty fee are not to be expected". Therefore an additional $40 is a big disappointment.
To my fellow Canadians, keep this in mind for potential purchases. I'll only buy again if the item can be shipped to my US mailing address.

MinCooperAt least you got yours. No word and no useful tracking on mine so far.
$10, for the CP processing fee, is a steal of a deal as far as I'm concerned.
