Piercing Treble
This headphone is well made but ridiculously poorly packed. From new the treble was piercing and strident. i am playing the headphones non stop in attempt to improve the sound and will post again after a reasonable break in period

Would not recommend to a friend.

The drivers in the B8 are superb. Burn-in isn't going to doing anything substantial to the sound. You simply need to replace the stock pads, which severely hinder sound and comfort. What sound signature are you looking for... dark, warm, bassy, wide, etc.?

Thank you for these comments. In fact I have fitted ZMF pads but the sound profile remains as I describe it. I have a large collection of headphones (too large my wife suggests) and I have no doubt that these phones have a piercing metallic treble compared with others. Possibly I I have a faulty pair since no one else has reported this. Roger

I doubt you have a faulty pair. The B8's treble is, indeed, prominent. But with the right pads, the treble can be brought down for a quite enjoyable overall sound. Try Brainwavz Sheepskin Leather Pads or these pads from misodiko, which are similar to Brainwavz Micro Suede Pads.

Thanks

The stock pads will not sit fully around your ear... unless you have very small ears. Trust me, they must be replaced for sound and comfort purposes. See my post above.

You're most welcome. EDIT: The (new) B8's headband is not too long, so those with smaller-size heads shouldn't have fitting issues, especially when the cruddy stock pads are replaced. In that regard, I recommend the dark grey velour pads from the brand misodiko (Amazon item B07QWZYTGF), which provide a natural overall sound with superb center-imaging and intimate vocals. A worthy alternative are the Brainwavz' Micro Suede Pads, which breathe a little better and result in a drier sound with a smaller sound-stage. Leather pad result in a bloated/dark sound. Synthetic leather pads lack ventilation.
