Exceptional detail, imaging and bass. Plain and simple I hear things with these that I do not hear from my ZSX10 Pro, TinT2, TinT3Pro and Tin P1 Planars. They are my daily...I keep trying the others and ALWAYS go back to the BLON 03.
Want a negative? The cable it comes with is pretty much trash so I highly recommend replacing that. But to be honest, it's a small price to pay...
I am a big fan of cheap audio that sounds good. Who wouldn't be?
I have a couple of sets of Tin T2s that I like, but they are a bit sterile for my tastes. Lately at work I've mostly been using some Koss KPH-30is, because once again cheap and good-sounding. I like the fact that they actually produce some bass but don't sound terrible when they do it.
Got the BLONs....oh wow. These are quite possibly my favorite-sounding things. The bass is way better than I expected, and I was expecting it to be pretty good. Treble is still there, and never shrill with no sibiliance. Probably a bit more emphasis on the bass than people who want a flat response would like, but I enjoy it. Gives good depth to everything without being overwhelming (or sounding terrible).
I haven't minded the cables as much as other people seem to. Sure you need two hands to put them in, but I can deal with that. I might try some foam tips a some point. Right now I'm using the largest of the silicone tips that they come with and getting a good seal and good sound, but they start to get a little bit uncomfortable after an hour or so. But every IEM does that for me, so don't judge them harshly by that measure.
I can't recommend these highly enough.
Literally only bought them because of how they look
I'll be honest, I literally only bought this pair of iems because I love the chrome beans look and they're so cheap I figured there wasn't much to loose. The details are noticeably muted because of how bassy these are. They aren't unpleasant to listen to most of the time, but there are certainly more pleasant pairs that I've tried. My biggest gripe with these iems are the fit, I just can't get them comfortable in my ears for anything longer than ~20 minutes of listening. I've tried rolling a dozen or so different pairs of tips that I have from the various pairs of iems that I've collected without any luck, and for a $30 pair of iem's it's not worth it to me to try and order other tips that might work better. I don't regret purchasing them because they're so cheap but I wouldn't recommend them to a friend.
Like the title states, I am not an audio enthusiast by any means. But, I picked these up after being annoyed with wireless bluetooth bs. They perform just as good if not better than my bose headphones for just the fraction of the price. I highly recommend if you aren't too concerned about all the technicalities.
I’m laughing as I’m writing because I imagined it. I appreciate Drop making shopping fun and for bring us excellent stuff at great value. You can’t win every time. These either have no tone, one dimensional sound or bad tone. Even the ear holders are inferior. Sorry, I can’t post a photo because I threw them out.
The sound quality of these is pretty good; it is about on par with (or just slightly inferior to) some cheaper KZ IEMs I have.
My left ear aches when I wear them for any length of time and I'm not sure why; it must just be an incompatibility with their shape and the anatomy of my ear.
I found that the included eartips were pretty bad honestly. I managed to find a good seal but even with the best fit, the sound isolation is not very good. The stock cable feels pretty cheap to me as well.
Overall, I would recommend a cheaper pair of KZs over these.
Good
. Nice package, lots of eartips.
. Somewhat detailed sound in upper mid - lower high frequency range.
. Solid build.
Bad
. Included eartips are not useable.
. Form of these IEMs awkward - very difficult to find well isolating eartips. Just not recessed enough. Also need to use O-rings as the most if the tips are covering the vent hole. So far using Sony WF-1000XM4 default tips. They are the longes from what I have.
. Sound is really flat. Bass is weak and blunt. Mids are shouty. Using different DACs and sound cards, also Galaxy S7+ tablet and S22 Ultra phone - to no avail. EQ remedies the situation, but only so much. Will try with high impedance Amp/DAC as soon as it arrives, but little hope so far.
. Cable is too thin and prone to entangle. Ear hooks are too short and not rigid enough.
Ugly
. Cable connection to the right earphone is not workng out of the box. Had to play around with the cable to make it work in some position. Had to order new cable.
In conclusion. Can't really figure out where to use these earphones. They are just not performing in any use case. My $30 ZSN ProX are lightyears away in terms of sound quality, comfort and overal using experience.
UPDATE: I got the new cable to replace the ugly one, shipped with in the box, and it appears that the right earphone is broken out from the box. The couplings are somewhat of the wrong shape, so there is no contact between coupling and the pins. A waste of $30.
Not very familiar with IEMs yet, but have purchased several pairs of headphones through Drop. Take that into consideration when reading this review!
Overall, I'm very pleased! Compared to my current daily-driver, the HIFIMAN HE-X4, there's certainly a lot more isolation (obviously). The sound seems clear, crisp, and detailed. It lacks in soundstage and "fullness" compared to my headphones, but considering the price difference, I'm thrilled.
I've purchased these for the office. I'm easily distracted by other conversations while I'm in a zoom call, and these have been a huge help. It's also great that once the call is over, I can turn on the music and enjoy the sound signature.
IEMs can get crazy expensive, so start with something affordable. I'm very happy with these so far, and definitely recommend adding them to your arsenal!
