Great value. Punches waaay above its price
First my apologies in advance for any spelling or grammatical errors as I am writing this review from my phone. Unless you are new to the iem community then you already know about the Blon Bl-03 (to which I'll just refer to as the ""Blons"). These under $30 iems compare favorably and even outperform iems many times its price. At $30, you can overlook its flaws and accept that they just sound great - as long as you can get a decent seal in your ears. Also, one can forgive the cheap cable and the barebones packaging. The iems themselves don't look bad but certainly don't have the look or feel of a premium iem. The small and somewhat odd shape with a short stem means they may not fit some ears. If you can't get a decent seal in your ear canal, any iem will suffer from what some reviewers will describe as poor/lack of bass. Take these reviews with a grain of salt as the reviewer may not know that the default eartips don't always fit and should be swapped with ones that do. The Blons, have what many will agree with as an inoffensive tune. The tonal signature does some things well, others well enough with nothing really to complain about and more importantly nothing that stands out in a way that makes them "shouty" or harsh. You can enjoy hours of listening without experiencing sonic fatigue that overly bright or shouty iems can induce and they are small and comfortable to wear. The bass is present if your content has bass. It is full and authoritative without being overstated, more importantly, the bass does not muddy or veil the lower midrange making vocalists sound too "chesty" as if they are placing the mic too close to their mouths. Mids (vocals) are nicely balanced - placing the vocalist exactly where they should be as the artist, and studio engineer intendedbduring the mastering process. Treble is natural. Cymbals and highhats have a natural sheen and air that does not sound like Brillo on aluminum foil that other iems suffer from. They are not overly emphasized and are not sibilant. What the Blons excel at is having a great tonal signature but lack a little in some of the subtlety and depth or nuances that audiophiles will pick at, like soundstage or imaging. Let's not forget that these are under $30! For most of you, just buy these and forget about anything else knowing thatbthey are just that good. I intend to keep my pair and I have many.
