It now turns out that supposedly an e-mail was sent to me requiring Government issued photo-id with a 24 hour time limit, an e-mail that isn't showing anywhere, even in my spam traps. As I didn't reply to this non-existent e-mail, my order was 'cancelled and refunded to protect your experience as a Massdrop user.'. What a great experience! To those of you lucky enough to be allowed to purchase this drop, 'Good luck'. To Massdrop, 'Screw you all'.

badfrogBadfrog, what nation/state do you currently reside in? I haven't ever had any trouble before, but I do know that companies like MD do from time to time get hit with commerce penalties when an item is being sold to a larger part of a populace than country x wants access to (unsure what place is that way about knives though, maybe New York state?).

Bog4rtBogart, I'm from the UK. As they showed a shipping price to the UK, I took it that they were able to sell it to me, unlike any Kershaws. Regardless, they lost two sales there and it'll have to be a spectacular offer to make me buy again.

badfrogI went and checked with my bud about this knife and while there are Boker + products that are civilian sale legal, these Boker actually are not in the U.K for the same stupid reason the nice cheap Kershaw's aren't (locking or lock liner for fully deployed blade). It also fails the cutting edge max for a folding knife which is no greater than 3 inches. It would be good for MassDrop to at least update their knife sale FAQ page https://helpdesk.massdrop.com/hc/en-us/articles/217341857-What-are-Massdrop-s-international-shipping-restrictions-for-knives- with a list of countries they are going to require govt, military, or leo identification prior to finalizing the sale instead of shooting out an unannounced email to a potential customer they might miss.

Bog4rtBogart, the locking and/or edge length has never been a problem with Massdrop before (Kershaw blurs, Mcusta, Spyderco, etc). You can own virtually any blade type in the UK apart from the usual things (gravity knives, flick knives and banned martial arts things). The rules about locking and length only start to apply if you carry them outside your own property. Even then, it's valid to have them if you have a good reason, for example, having a locking blade to use when extracting arrows from a wooden stand. In this case I believe it's just a total screw-up by Massdrop, followed by a story about a non-existent e-mail. In any case, 'Good health to enjoy your knife'.

badfrogSucks for you. Massdrop has amazing deals and a great community, but sure, let one bad experience ruin it.

HellreaverHellreaver, don't try and make statements for me. I'm still part of the community, I'm still waiting on my non-serrated Kershaw Blur and I'm in other worthwhile purchases. If you're so quick to be judgemental then 'Sucks to be you'.
