An awesome knife! Highly recommended! The Native 5 quickly became one of my favourite small EDC knives. Last year I also got in the Blue Box drop and was lucky enough to receive the FRN S110V. It proved itself to be a very useful tool in and around the house. Great ergonomics, size and very capable to tackle almost any daily tasks. The back-lock is strong and trustworthy. For me personally I feel it's a bit too small to carry as my primary EDC knife when I'm leaving the house, one of my PM2's will be my first choice most of the time. But when I need a capable and lightweight knife, the Native 5 has become my go to. Because I liked this one so much I bought a Native exclusive with smooth G10 and CPM S90v when I had the chance. Also a stunning and useful knife with a new kind of knife steel for me. After already using those two upgraded versions, I also wanted the regular version with S35VN steel which I love. So I joined the latest Native Blue Box and to my surprise I got the fluted CF S90v model. Although this is one of the most expensive and beautiful Native model, at first I was a bit disappointed because I still didn't had the S35VN one to use as a beater knife ;-) Now I use this CF S90v more as a gents carry and the S110V is still going strong as the most used one.

Love my Native - Got the black g10 in the last drop and it's my daily use. Perfectly sized and it makes 99% of my other knives feel like chinese knockoffs.

Burple s110v G10 backlock. As far as steel goes s110v isn't a bad choice. The knife has only needed a sharpen twice now since delivery and that's done pretty easily with DMT stones, honestly I don't know why you would bother using anything else. It takes a nice shaving sharp edge and is pretty damn acid resistant. Keep in mind this knife is being used daily in a fruit and veg shop and washed in a dishwasher. Rust has appeared on the surface once or twice but seems to have come off easily enough just with washing. The G10 is holding up fine and the mechanism is still ok, even though I am yet to strip it down and clean it all up. Overall a good knife I can recommend it I'd probably opt for a linerless frn for a daily though over the G10 with steel liners just for weight.

Great little knife. Holds a razor sharp edge. Used it to cut some fire hose and it would still shave hair on my arm.

I love the knife. This review is less about the knife and more about the execution of the Drop. This plays a large part in the process as what I received was not what was listed in the actual drop.
What I ended up getting was a Linerless Black G10 Native 5 in S30V. The drop clearly listed this as being superior to the FRN model by having full steel liners. It also claimed the blade steel would be S35VN. I don't know who messed this up (as this is the second run and the product has changed since then). All in all I adore the knife, but that adoration is significantly soured by the way this drop was handled and the subsequent lesser model that was delivered.
It should be mentioned that the quality on the knife isn't stellar. The grind on the swedge is slightly off and the gimping on the back lock portion is crooked.
Massdrop needs to work on how it handles inaccurate information posted in drops, how that inaccurate information might impact their customers, and how those impacts are conveyed to it's customers. I don't think I'm alone in saying that the drop turned into a disappointment for a great many users already with more to come as the blades are delivered.

Did not receive the product I paid for. The base product many of us expected to get if we were not lucky enough for an upgrade was non-existent. Instead, we received a lesser product that was never listed. MD is unable to handle problems in a timely manner. Not only does their support take around 1 work week for initial contact, they seem to refuse to communicate with the community in the discussion board for the drop. Imagine that, a community oriented retailer not talking to the community. Makes you think a bit. All of this because they could not grab a single product from their shipment and do a bit of basic QA before shipping it off to their customers. I'd expect that from a questionable ebay/craigslist re-seller and even then, that's unacceptable and laughably lazy.

So are we like supposed to get a refund or how is massdrop gonna make this right? I, and I'm sure many of you, would have never bought this deal if the base blade was listed as S30V.
Is this the norm for MassDrop to pull the switch-a-roo on our chump asses?

trailblazzrWhat is funny, is when I was asking a question to MassDrop about my shipping, they were quick to respond to my email, like within a day or two. Now after I emailed them about their switch bait tactics, surprisingly, I get no reply. I guess when they get your money, they don't give a F about you then?
MassDrop, is losing more customers your current business model? WTF

Zero stars. The knife was not as described. The response to the issue was slow and the proposed resolution was lackluster.

Massdrop, you totally “dropped” the ball on this one. This is my first massdrop purchase, and most likely going to be the last unless they do something big to fix this. Even though I already had my eyes on the Ferrum Forge crux, I’m nervous something else is going to come in the box. I understand that Spyderco change them all over to s30, but that why I joined this drop. To get the last of the s35 before they were discontinued. Wish I would‘ve at least got a imaginary add on. Where are all these one in ten cases that no ones gotten. Totally blowing it massdrop. You need to respond on the message boards, and you’re looking bad right now.
