Simply the Dopest
This was one of those purchases that came along for the stretch of time in San Diego, maybe for a week a year where it just dumps rain. I only had flimsy old umbrellas at the time and as most items on Drop are, I felt like I needed a smart purchase of a high quality item at a great price. I cannot even tell you how awesome it is to go from thinking an umbrella was always going to be a crummy, half-broken accessory left in the closet for 90% of the year, to rocking a massive bright red rain annihilator that looks as good as it is built. I actually find excuses now to use it since I am fairly tall at 6'3, I purchased the XL size and if it's drizzling, pouring rain, nuking snow in the mountains, a quick walk to the beach to block a little sun, or even a long day out on the links, I bring my bright red beacon of protection with me. My only wish is that I would have purchased the golf specific edition so that it had even better sun protection, but the thickness of the XL size is just enough to provide a little much needed shade. If this product ever comes back to Drop, feel confident this will be the last umbrella you purchase until you mindlessly forget it somewhere, or the off chance you break it (which would be a feat considering the design and sturdiness). Dope Drop :P

I love it. It's a little heavier than your typical umbrella but it looks great, feels high quality and, most importantly for me, is big and really covers you from the rain. I love the satisfying *thunk* sound when you open it and see/feel the perfect amount of tension on the canopy. On the rare occasions when I get to use it here in California someone usually asks me about it and then runs off to order one themselves.

Honestly for the size of the closed umbrella (ie a fair amount bigger than most), this is way smaller when opened than almost any other ‘compact’ umbrella out there (I’d actually say this is a bit too long for a truly compact setup when folded but when extended its more like a full size in length but not in coverage). Seems decently sturdy, but less than what I was expecting when compared to the size and weight of its competitors. Still a nice umbrella, but not a slam-dunk choice.

Correct. XL is still a bit small for a full golf umbrella, but it’s good and sturdy. I’d buy it again. Now the compact is good, but not sure I’d buy another over its competitors.

Slightly heavy but unparalleled sturdiness. I'm sure I will end up purchasing a smaller one in the future for increased portability. Highly recommended.

Very nice
This umbrella is epic, first impressions are good. When you open it for the first time, you can feel the quality in all the parts. Even though it's all plastic, it's very high quality plastic and extremely sturdy, there is no flex anywhere. The mechanism that makes the umbrella stay open takes a little while to get used to (tension wise), even though it's easy to use. It takes a good amount of strength to open and the click at the end feels like it'll let the umbrella snap shut, although it's never happened. The fabric this is made from is very high quality, and the amount of tension on it is also very high, it makes for a satisfyingly high amount of noise when walking under trees. If you ordered this in red, the entire street looks at you, so no accidents when crossing the road. The only thing I might be cautious of is the fact the canopy structure ends are encased in fabric. If you are in tight quarters or walk close to walls all the time, this might rub through. The umbrella is also not as big as previously thought, sure the diameter is massive, but it's also shallower than regular umbrellas. Sure this is better in high wind scenarios, but you will also get wetter. All up, if you have the money, get one.

The wind resistance has not been exaggerated.
It's very well-built, big enough to cover two, can handle any wind that won't get you airborne, and is an effective defense against territorial geese.

This works great for walking from my car to my work and back, which is what I got it for. It does it's job quite well and has held up well in the wind!

It's well made, but I like the compact better. The XL is too large and its heavy. Also, when it is raining hard, the condensation of the rain seeps through.

Excellent! A litte heavy, but way worth it! Even with wind (and a lot of!) it stays strong and blocks the rain. Will definitely buy a smaller and more portable one for the days I don't plan on the rain!
