I'm able to use this device by plug and play means, but I'm having an issue when trying to put this device in DFU mode. I've tried using the RESET macro and shorting the board, both produce the same result. Windows 10 recognizes that something changed and I end up with an unknown "ATm32U4DFU" device in Device Manager. If I unplug and plug, the device returns to normal. However, QMK Toolbox never detects the device throughout all of this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Possibly the cause is that the device driver not be installed on the PC. The keyboard is different, but this site might be helpful. (see "Stage 2 - Flash Keyboard,  Step 1 - Install Bootloader")

I absolutely love you. I wish there was some way of giving kudos other than the thumbs up. Thank you so much!

One more question: do you know how I can change the colors of the lights of each key individually? I don't see an easy way to do it. Do I need to learn to program QMK?

Sorry for my late reply. I'm also looking for a tool for setting the lighting of each key individually, but not find yet. By the way, I found the manual for BM-16s. Access here, download the files and extract them (source).

@equuleus I'm able to accomplish assigning individual LED colors by writing my own keymap.c file. I don't think there's an easier way to do it for now.
