If you looked up “hefty” in the dictionary, you might see a picture of the Albatross, a Jens Anso–designed knife produced in collaboration with Boker and CountyComm. The knife boasts a massive 3.6-millimeter-thick titanium plate that forms the basis of the frame lock Read More
Not the most practical design, but if you're considering this knife, you probably already know that. It's a very cool and standout design. As others have said, the size and location of the thumb studs make opening a little awkward, and the blade is thicker than I prefer on an EDC, but its a great "big little" knife with a solid build and good fit and finish.
I have to admit, I love the Boker Panchenko, and the Voxnaes F3. I love these short fat knives.
But this one tops them all.
beautiful stonewashed VG10, supersharp, perfect centering, no play, smooth action, gorgeous ornamentation with the anodized titanium.
the shredded carbon fiber suits this beautifully.
just an excellent piece, and a real bargain at $99. Would not be unreasonable at $150.
love it
I knew this knife was going to be hefty but damn. Thick scales think Medford. Love the look of carbon fiber hate the pocket clip if you want to carry tip up sticks out your pocket like a half inch will probably retap holes
I love the materials and the design, although the execution lacks in three areas.
There is a sharp edge on the frame at the leading edge of the lock bar which creates a hot stop for your index finger.
The pocket clip is located in a odd place for tip up carry, leaving it to ride unusually high in the pocket.
Lastly, the relationship between the pivot point, thumb stud, and grip area make it awkward to open the blade. It's definitely a slow roll.
With that said, it's still a fun little chunker that I enjoy using and maintains a place in my EDC rotation.
