Product Description
Designed by Jason Stout, the aptly named Stout Commander is a workhorse folder fit for demanding tasks. Measuring over 8 inches long, the knife definitely commands attention Read More
Feels a bit weird when you close it but it has a sweet opening sound, D2 holds its edge pretty nice and easy to sharpen. Nothing else to say about it, I love the Boker and CountyComm collabs!
Solid and dependable. Sharp and I love the design.
My only issue was with blade centering. It came out way off. I tried just about everything, even tightening the pivot all the way (in the closed position) even then it was still off. Kinda gave up on centering and got the pivot to a point that was satisfying for fidgeting. Still happy with my purchase
Un bon couteau qui tient bien dans la main et léger malgré sa belle taille. Bien affûté et l'âme centrée. Rien à redire pour un bon prix.
Bien arrivé en France sans taxe supplémentaire.
The blade came out of the box with an edge you could legitimately shave with. The opening action is easily performed?, and the the lock/release is pretty solid. D2 tool steel makes for great edge retention and something that can take a beating as well. However...
The spine of the blade where your thumb rests DEFINITELY needs either knurling or more defined ridges. Like these here.

Those smooth ridges do nothing for positive thumb retention.

The index finger guard (finger well🤷) is designed more for a slicing or thrusting (at your own risk) if you don't choke up on the handle and instead use just the last 3/4's of your fingers.

That may be because I have big hands, or hands that are too big for this knife. See below.

The carbon fiber -while looking great and makes for a lighter package- lacks a defined texture. They almost seem like a visual design feature rather than something intended to keep your palm from slipping should a viscous fluid, say something like "oil" gets on said hand using the knife.

All in all the knife is good, but not great. This is not a hit piece, but rather constructive criticism. At least I hope it comes off as that.
The is knife is fine functionally. The carbon fiber scales provided a good grip and feel in hand. However, the blade finish was a bit more stonewashed than I preferred. The ad pictures of the blade looked more satin. I believe a satin blade finish would allow the grins to pop a bit more. Just my opinion. Overall though I would give it a 7 out of 10.
Likes: Razor sharp blade
Good blade centering
Grippy carbon scales; love the dimpling
Solid, smooth deployment
Dislikes: Pocket clip is too tight; usually need two hands to put in pocket.
Chrome clip is too shiny, when the rest of the knife steel is matte/stonewashed; looks cheap
No deep carry clip
Overall: Seems, initially, like a solid daily-driver.

I really like the feel of this knife. It is actually lighter than I though it would be but very stout (pun intended). Blade is very sharp and it opens very easily with the flipper. Quite happy with the purchase.
A very good knife, with a textured carbon plate and the one with the steel frame. In addition it is possible to add a strap.

On this subject there is no insert at the level of the contact zone of the frame. The clip is not completely concealable but allows comfortable wearing on the belt.

The opening is extremely fluid and can be done in two ways, with the flipper or by placing your thumb on the blade insert.
The profile of the blade strongly reminds of a Bowie. Folded it looks a lot like the homefront EDC from crkt, they are also the same weight (122 g).
