Combining the best features of a gentleman’s folder and a tactical knife, the Boker Kwaiken has undergone many variations over the years—and this one may be the boldest yet. Designed by Lucas Burnley, this flipper features a streamlined, tapered look and a 3.5-inch blade made from VG-10 stainless steel: a high-carbon-content steel manufactured in Japan. On this version, the blade is cut with a duplex grind. Because the heel is thicker than the tip, it offers extra strength for things like cutting rope and hard materials, while the tip can be used for tasks that require more precision. The blade is easily deployed using the flipper tab, which doubles as a finger guard once opened. For the handle, Boker has chosen G-10: a grippy composite that’ll hold up in any weather.
