The Boker Plus FR is knifemaker Brad Zinker’s response to the EDC community’s call for a heftier version of the original Urban Trapper. Following the popularity of our exclusive version of the Urban Trapper, we applied the same community-voted colors to its stouter cousin, the Boker Plus FR. This matching version is made with premium S35VN stainless steel and it features blue anodization on the titanium frame and a black blade, giving the knife a distinctly stealthy look—one that you’ll only find here on Massdrop.
Note: Due to the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information.
While it measures just 6.5 inches long, this Boker Plus FR is fit to handle tougher cutting tasks thanks to its more robust construction. It features a thicker blade and taller handle, but maintains the slim profile that helped the original Urban Trapper earn a spot in the pockets of many knife nuts. The blade is made from CPM S35VN steel, which is arguably the best commercial steel on the market, while the titanium frame helps to keep weight down without sacrificing strength. Slip it in your pocket with the deep-carry pocket clip for a low-profile, tip-up carry position.
Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (a pioneer of the integral frame lock), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process of powdered metallurgy known as CPM, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
