Product Description
The Boker Plus FR is knifemaker Brad Zinker’s response to the EDC community’s call for a heftier version of the original Urban Trapper. Following the popularity of our exclusive version of the Urban Trapper, we applied the same community-voted colors to its stouter cousin, the Boker Plus FR Read More

Are the dimensions identical to the regular production version using VG10 blade steel and carbon fiber scales? If so I already own that one and I will buy this and switch out the scales so I will have the s35vn and carbon fiber also another in vg10 and reg scales

I really think FEDEX has become the laziest of all the carriers. Long delivery estimate, then finally in your town and delayed for at least a day for no reason. Then they give to USPS to do the actual work. Of course USPS treats it like a brand new first class mail package which makes it another two days. Now its sunday so I have to wait another day. I feel like the only thing they actually do is delay a USPS delivered package.

I feel your pain man, I feel like i forever waiting on items that i have ordered to the point that i sometimes forget what all i have ordered so when stuff does finally show up it feels Christmas lol but i really wish there were a tier of membership like Amazon Prime which has next day delivery service on all items ordered, now that would be worth paying dues or fees for lol

Fifty percent of the time I get one of these Boker gentleman knives I have to return it because I cannot get it to open. In fact I just returned a beautiful Mahogany scaled Urban Trapper because I could not get it to open. Thus it is a crap shoot everytime I buy one that I get one that works or not. It is my opinion that a new knife should open and I should not have to take the risk and fool around with it.

Agreed! So many knives in review videos and store sites operate so smoothly. Yet when you receive them they are so tight it’s painful to get them open (“I want the knives they are showing in the videos” 😕). I don’t have weeks to fiddle and break these in. By the time I've got it working smoothly I’ve already dropped it multiple times, scratched it, and probably cut and stabbed myself several times. 😬🤣 I shouldn’t have to operate on every knife I receive just to get it to behave correctly. I currently have a new gorgeous Copper Mini Kwaiken. The videos show it effortlessly snapping open. I can barely get it to disengage from the detent without injuring myself. The pivot is not tight at all and swings smoothly. But I’m having a hard time breaking that detent. And the rounded gimping on the flipper doesn’t help. My finger tip just slides right off. There’s virtually no bite at all. I know - “Well all you have to do is…”. But why can’t premium knives like this come operating correctly out of the box to begin with? 🤷🏻‍♂️

If it's anything like an Urban Trapper, a loose pivot is the problem. When the pivot screw is tightly secured, the blade, bearings and frame run parallel. When it's loose the parts get misaligned and jam. Also they don't always seem to oil all of their knives.

Very disappointed on this one....right out of the box the pivot was a little sloppy. Normally not something that can't be corrected so unconcerned I went to the workbench and promptly discovered that Boker apparently makes screws out of cheese. Unable to remove the scales to fix the pivot because the scale hardware stripped. ....it's light so it doesn't even make a good paperweight now. YGBFKM ......still generally very pleased with Massdrop and I have no complaint about any of the other items I've purchased but I'll not buy another Boker.

Good- looking. Check out the MD Ferrum Forge Gent for a real bargain in price and workmanship.

I'm throwing the Ferrum Forge Buc in there too. One of my favorite gentlemen's knives.

You can almost carry any of the massdrop × FF knives in a gentleman's carry situation. Even the new mordax looks very classy in person (and I got the bright blue one!) That said of the four I own (the Crux, Gent Select CF, Buc, and now Mordax) my favorite to carry is the Crux. I have kept it in my EDC rotation and also carried it in formal situations. I believe the Gent is perfect for most Formal situations while the Crux is a mix of utility and class. The Buc is more of a collector piece than a user knife imo. But that's also why they offer a user friendly version of it in the Dao (one I must get for this reason). That said, after only owning it for two days, I can tell you that the Mordax is probably the best of the bunch. It's basically a thinned out and lighter but larger Crux with the smoothest button lock I have ever seen and a better shaped finger choil (similar to the Buc and Dao). I believe that DROP is absolutely killing it with these collabs. Keep it up.

Joined the last drop on this with S35vn and finally got it yesterday. Took a while ....my general impression so far is that it is smaller than expected (I guess it is a gentleman folder afterall). Opening is smooth out of the box but definetly have some lock stick. Also the detent is fairly strong on mine, not an issue when opening the blade but be careful when you close the knife as mine stopped at the detent a couple of times, it will probably get a little better over time. Nice deep pocket clip, scales are well done and nice touch rounding the spine of the blade. Generally I like the knife but in my opinion the price point is still a little high for the knife.

Can anyone tell me if there is a steel insert on the edge of the titanium lockbar? I don't tend to trust titanium on steel lockups after watching too many torture tests videos.

It is also true that it is surely the Taiwanese factory that goes out to be boker but the specifications and the same when the s35vn c is an improved vg-10.

The VG-10 version is made in China (as are many of the Boker Plus knives), but not sure about this "exclusive w/ S35VN steel."
