D2 being stainless really depends on your definition of stainless. It's right on the cusp, so I usually see it referred to as "semi-stainless" or the like. None of my D2 knives have had any corrosion problems, but just be mindful when using a D2 knife in wet, salty, or corrosive environments. A little care can go a long way.
