I'm not saying this was an intentional, intended result, but it is interesting--particularly in light of the fact that there couldn't have been more than a couple dozen Urban Trappers available--that the discussion threads connected to each of these knives did not follow them over to this, the combined drop info page. In other words, there were 700+ comments on the "discussion" page for the kwaiken when it was sold alone, but none of those comments show here because this is essentially a new drop. The reason that is so..."interesting" is because, with the Kwaiken at least, there were numerous problems, from delays to shoddy merch when it finally was delivered. Of course, i didnt read every single comment, but the problems sounded like classic Boker QC issues: unsealed, rough scales; sharp spots on the liner and/or scales that needed to be sanded further; gritty blade deployment; off-centered blades; etc., &c. I vaguely remembered hearing that way back when during the original, or at least earlier drops, and I was able to locate the related discussion pages, but only because I knew to look. Someone who was unaware that history existed wouldn't go looking for it, and that would and is undoubtedly to the benefit of those who want the knife to sell. I have a personal policy that I don't purchase Boker-made products that haven't first been in my hand and in front of my eyes, and I mean the actual piece I'm considering buying, which the discussion page from the MD kwaiken shows is a necessary precaution. I've made exceptions to that rule three times in order to jump on some exclusive kwaikens, and of those three, one was fine, one was definitely not fine, and one was acceptable but I wouldn't have put my $ down if I had been buying in-store unless they'd had another, better constructed version of the knife. Call that about 50/50--not good enough, in my opinion. So regardless of past comments, i wasnt going to get in on this drop, much as Id like a mirror-bladed kwaiken to add to my other dozen or so. But as I said, it is clearly to the benefit of the seller for that messy history to not be front and center. And it seems extremely convenient that a way was found to make that happen w/o deleting anything. It would raise my suspicion so much if there hadn't been so few Urban Trappers--a more suspicious person might think they set it up this way for the purpose of burying those comments on a product with a surplus they were trying to move.
