I own one, used mostly for coffee with my chemex. I don't like it, mostly for the tactile feel and esthetics. Feels flimsy and not organic. For most however, these are things that don't matter. It seems to be pretty durable, and has lots of functions. I don't like that the hold function is cancelled when you lift the kettle of the base.

MezzDo you own the 1.7L or 1.0L?
I'm tempted to get this, but worry that the 1.7L might be a bit too big. 1.0L is all I really need, but the Massdrop price for the 1.7L is hard to pass up.

I have the 1.0, enough to fill a 6- cup chemex and some... I agree 1.7 is overkill for most people . But you can always not fill it up completely.

It might be overkill, but it's also 1500W vs. 1000W on the 1.0L. I have the 1.7L and it heats 0.75L of water (the minimum fill line) faster than I can grind the coffee for a 1-cup pourover.
