ALSO, I just want to remind (and advise) people to use filtered water when doing any of this. Boiling tap water, which most all is hard water, will cause the denser minerals to precipitate out over time. You'll get more residue leftover in your kettle over time and, since the gooseneck spout is receiving water from the base of the kettle, you will most likely get the hard water precipitate in your drinks.
Anyhow, use filtered water and make your kidneys happier.
