Not sure how I would, nor would it have to be specifically made from porcelain. My main point was that it's disingenuous to not list the plastic parts. Some of us do not want plastic in our products. As a side note; way too many companies are unnecessarily junk-ifing their products with plastic. Bodium being one of the worst I've come across.

How would you propose to design an open/close switch made out of porcelain? This product has built upon the design of the "clever coffee dripper" that was totally made of (cheap)plastic. Both devices make a really good cup of coffee, but the Bonavita is works much better with different sized coffee cups, and the porcelain really makes the dripper feel like a more upscale item. Seriously, I think this is a incredible coffee making device. I've had one for 4 years, and use it every day.
