Is the thermal carafe an upgrade from the glass? Just curious.
I'm really happy Massdrop has the cooking community now.

K.T.NI'd say it's just personal preference.

K.T.NThe problem with the insulated carafe is that it has a topper (for the sealed lid to screw into) that won't actually let all the liquid out when inverted. It's not like you can't wash it, but no matter which direction you pour/shake, there's about a tablespoon of liquid in the bottom. If you triple-rinse it's not enough to worry about, but it does really annoy me.
Otherwise: insulated carafe means the coffee isn't getting cooked by a hotplate, but still keeps hot-enough for an hour or so.
