It does what it says on the box
Nice quality cable and mic, pretty comparable to my standard go-to, V-Moda BoomPro. Maybe a bit overpriced when compared to BoomPro, but I prefer Panda's cable and smaller in-line control. I'd say it's quite worth it. Paired it up with my Creative Sound Blaster X3, the audio is punchy and the mic is clear.

Feels good in gaming!
I use it on PS5 + SoundBlaster G6, and the music and microphone sound quality are both very good. A friend of mine who plays games with me also said it was good. The volume control and mute switch are also at hand, so it's very easy to use.

Good mic when on sale
This is a good mic, but it is only worth the price when on sale. At $50 I don't believe it's a good deal. You can find these used and in good condition for ~$20, and when it's on sale here at $9 it's a great mic. Comparing it to other microphones I've tried, recently I'd say from worst to best it goes V-moda BoomPro X < Drop Mic < V-moda BoomPro original. There are caveats for each, of course, but that's overall and most importantly mic sound quality. The V-moda BoomPro X is basically a closed back version of a mic, only pics up from one direction and makes it sound muffled/narrow/compressed. This is good if you like playing games at a high volume with openback headphones, as not as much noise coming from the headphones will be picked up. It's the nicest cable of the bunch, with discrete controls and a nice cloth-like jacket for the cable. The microphone boom arm for the mic isn't very strong and sags which is very annoying. The Drop mic is a step up on audio quality for the mic, sounds more open and higher quality all around picking up more of the frequencies with a cleaner output. The cable is fine, but is a plastic coated cable, smooth and soft though. Comes with a pop filter, and an extension cable that splits the mic and audio. I like this one for open back headphones, but at high volumes the mic can pick up sounds. The original V-moda BoomPro microphone has amazing sound quality, like outstanding. Sounds super natural and very clean. Compared to the other two, it's in a League of its own... But there are downsides. The cable is very long, and the inline controls are bulky as hell. The microphone picks up a lot of noise, as it is an open back style microphone. Only really recommend for playing at low volumes with openback headphones or with closed back headphones. The cable is shielded with the same cloth like material as the V-moda BoomPro X. That's my opinion, good microphone at the discounted prices, $50 is tooooo much. The V-moda BoomPro X is $45 which is even less worth it in my opinion, but the original V-moda BoomPro for $35 is a great value.

Sounds decent
Worth the price @ $9 after headphones got abandoned. I still have a working pair and needed to fill my cart for free shipping along with a keycap order. Gets the job done when I don't want to fuss with my XLR mic setup.

Highly Variable Sound Quality; Extension Cable Miswired
All things equal this mic is capable of delivering a relatively low-noise, articulate and full-bodied sound that is probably sufficient for gaming and voice calls for 99.9% of users, 99.9% of the time. All things, however, are not equal. As with most mics of this style, the sound quality of the Panda Boom Mic can vary wildly depending on the load with which it's presented. My best results so far have been with a Yamaha AG06 MK2 mixer and a Pixel 4a. Paired with these devices the mic sounds up to its full potential. However, my primary use case for this mic is plugged directly into a PC, not into a phone or a mixer. Connected to my ThinkPad P50 through the onboard TRRS jack, the SNR becomes dramatically smaller with a loud white noise underlying the signal. Clearly there is some sort of impedance mismatch between the mic and the preamps on this computer. Results through the TRRS port on the dock for the P50 are as bad or worse after level adjustments are carried out. I tried the Panda Boom Mic with three other computers; two desktops and one more laptop, each with different results. None came even close to the clean sound I got through the AG06. All had white noise and one of the desktops injected a high-pitched whine on the signal for good measure. Let it suffice to say for now that your experience with this mic will depend greatly on how well it pairs with the preamp in your device. Another issue worth mentioning is that the extension cable shipped with the mic is miswired and essentially unusable. The cable is configured with a TRRS jack on one end, spliting into two TRS plugs on the other end; one for the mic and the other for headphones. I have confirmed with continuity tests that all three contacts on the mic-side TRS plug are shorted together, which is incorrect. Correct wiring for the mic connector would require Tip and Ring to be shorted with Sleeve idependent, acting as ground. Using the included cable results in one of two outcomes: Used as two TRS plugs into separate jacks the mic signal does not pass. If the two TRS plugs are recombined into a single TRRS plug the mic signal becomes distorted. Headphones work in either case. I have other extenders, splitters and joiners which work correctly and I can say with certainty that the Drop extension/splitter cable is faulty. I don't know how to rate this product. If I consider the mic on its own and ignore the extender then it's quite good, provided it's paired with a suitable load. Taken as a whole with the faulty extender it is essentially unusable, and would almost certainly confound someone less technically-inclined than me. I think Drop needs to change three things about this product: 1) include a female-to-male TRRS extender so that the mic can be used at a distance with single-jack devices. 2) include a separate (and correctly-wired) TRRS jack to dual-TRS plug splitter for devices that have separate IO jacks. 3) include a disclaimer in the product description about load impedance vs mic impedance and the potential effects on fidelity. I have a good mind to produce a video demonstrating all the things I've discussed in this review. I've ordered a couple of inexpensive USB sound cards with dual TRS and TRRS inputs. They're on a slow boat from China but when they arrive I will update this review. P.S. As it turns out I bought three of these mics. I will test the other two cables and report back.

Great value
When on sale this is easily one of the most worthwhile purchases if you want an inline mic option!

Good Cable, Bad Crosstalk
Good cable, but headphone output bleeds over to mic input through the cable, even with no headphones attached and the mic "muted" with the switch. Went through two of them that both had this issue.

Good Quality
Use this with my Dekoni Blue Fostex for gaming. Friends all say they mix is nice and clear without background noise. Powered through Astro mix amp. Wish the cable was a little longer though.
