I built a Crack with Speedball for myself about 2 years ago. It's a very, very good performing amp and it's really not that hard to build. Anyone on the fence about this should just go ahead and build one. You'll be pleased with the results. The nice thing about it is that the amp itself performs well enough to allow you to hear differences between other equipment and between different kinds of tubes. For example, for me, changing the 6080 main tube to the 5998 (NOT A 5998A!) makes me MUCH happier with it.
