Build quality is very good, with a brushed aluminum finish. The only issue that I have is the lack of a lip on the end of the nozzle, which could allow some tips to come off in the ear. I created a bit of a lip with a short sliver of electrical tape, which works (sort of) but shouldn't be necessary. It depends on the tips you use - I like Spiral Dots, but they have a large bore which makes them inclined to slide off.
