I can't believe I missed this drop by only a few hours! Nice watch, how much did it drop for?

Is this a true "brass" plating or just a brass "colored" PVD coating? Will it develop a patina?

Hmm interesting. You are probably right! Can't find "made in USA" anywhere besides here on Massdrop, really weird... Still a good deal regardless of where its made, at least to me.
Also AVI-8 and Spinnaker are part of same company, just different fronts. Solar Time as many different sub companies with watches of different styles and feel to them. Hence why Spinnaker is vintage diver and AVI-8 is aviator.

This one is really interesting. At first I barely glanced at it. Then I came back to it. Then I left again. Then I'm back again looking at the pics. On a whim I held my arm (sleeve) up to the screen just to see how it would appear with my threads (I'll sometimes try my watches 'on' this way if I have trouble picturing myself wearing it). 12 seconds later I'm in on the drop. Also it's only 11mm, which ups the dress factor over the poked-myself-in-the-eye models out there.

Holy crap! 43mm, leather strap, Miyota auto, clean design, unique case plating, sapphire crystal and USA "made?!?"
This watch, compared to all the other micro-brand watches I've seen over the years is a screaming deal IMO. (I picked up an Enclave quartz in the past--beautiful design and sapphire for under $100--though I can assume country of origin. Also a Miro automatic which was way above scale.) Only downside I see to this is the plated stainless steel, but the color contrast on any scratches will be much less than with a black or darkly plated case.
Think ahead to the holidays and the automatic watch folks on your list--this would be a winner.
Don't tell the wife (yet) but I'm in.

Unless you are a neanderthal that watch will look like you bought it big on purpose so you can showoff. Wear it in good health ;)

Yeah. His wrists are very small. Like his bank account. And other unmentionables. :D Ignore him. He's only a troll.

LuddeI was going to say the same. For the case construction and the strap quality and a standard/tough Japanese automatic movement, you could do worse. And the dial is distinctive while simple enough and not trying to reinvent the wheel. The Spinnaker Cahill is dropping right now for about half the price, but that’s with a nylon strap and they aren’t really able to make it look like anything but a modded Seiko diver.

LuddeI agree as well, looks nice. Unfortunately, this watch is right in the middle of a competitive price bracket. Hope the company is successful.
