Well I came here intending to join the group of people expressing our slight sadness of getting a pair of Jives but then I actually used them. The sound is pretty damn good for the price and they seem to be very well built ... BUT THEN ... then I tried the Comply Foam Tips that come with it. Oh my gosh why have I always just put up with the silicone tips that come with every earphones I've ever bought? I thought I hated earphones but these Comply tips are AMAZING. I actually tore a bit of foam off trying to get them on (be careful folks) but it doesn't affect the performance or comfort. I'm definitely gonna have to buy more Comply foam tips. They've made all of my old earphones usable again. Amazing. I still would have liked to have "won the lottery" but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the purchase.

jdpmanI also suggest trying sony hybrid tips, stock tips are rarely good/great, though sometimes brainwavz includes hybrid style tips.....sony hybrid tips are THE silicon tips i use for everything but my etymotic research iem's, ety have great tips, i just use small tri-flanges and remove the largest flange with finger nail clippers....though ety's require some getting use to due to deep insertion depth

^^^ look there you will find, you got some VERY nice iem's more then a few ppl saying they stand up to sets 2-3x as expensive(or more!!!) they are a great set.....more durable then the m5's and other higher end units.....
and yeah comply makes the best foam tips out there...though shure olives also have a big following depending on the set of iem's your outfitting :)
i still havent gotten a shipping notice...no worries though...i just hope i get my iem's by weeks end....i wana do a review!!!

UnaSalusVictusI've been reading you're responses and good on you for actually trying to give reason to people's complaints. Though I fear in the end you're just shouting in the wind... People are going to be happy or they won't. Those with even limited edition experience on MD (such as myself) will realize that as far as a MD handled shipment goes this has been pretty damn good. And as far as the odds 1 in 6000 is fantastic, hell I pretty much bought into this as a gamble like every other grab bag... And to my original reason for posting. Just finally got my S1 and have to say not bad. Not a huge fan of ime's these are fairly decent. Actually some mids with acceptable rolled off highs and loud bass. Not as good as my akgs but damn for what I went in on pretty happy. Worst thing about the S1 at least is that they are over the ear to be comfortable.

awarepaperalot of people prefer over the ear due to it pretty much eliminating cord microphonics
and yeah, having been on MD's end, i can tell you....thats ALOT to get repackaged and shipped, and they got other drops they are shipping as well im sure....
my favorite IEM's are my etymotic hf5's they are bloody amazing, i got them on sale for 80bucks on amazon.....i tell people if you want amazing SQ and arent a bass head, you need to try an ety...they are DEEP insertion though, but, once you find the right tips, your set...
as to the tips, i dont know if the S1 comes with hybrid style tips or not, if it does try those, try the comply foams as well though, you may need to buy a set of large or small complies...(medium barely fit me, small fit perfectly though...)
and i know alot of ppl wont listen but some will, IMHO with the change they made....this drop went from being decent to being great.....those s5's they added....i wana try a pair....hehe....
btw, once your use to over the ear....you will probably try and do it with every set you own....specially if your active and dont wana hear th ecable slide around on ur cloths or, pull the iem's out of your ears.

UnaSalusVictusI wasn't sure I would like "over the ear" and I haven't tried them yet with my sunglasses (I work outdoors and wear shades a lot) but yeah, I can see getting very used to this design very quickly.
