I'd like to say thanks to massdrop. My package got caught up in shipping and was bounced back to them. I assume it was lost. So therefore. THEY SENT ME A PAIR OF SHURE SE535's FOR 20 DOLLARS. Amazing customer service. Lost your package? Even in it was your fault? Well we'll give you 500 dollar headphones for it. Massdrop killed it with this.
Are you sure the SE535's were intentional? I worked with customer service to remedy a shipping problem as well and received two packages when I was only supposed to receive one. One of the boxes contained a set of Shure SE535's too and I was ECSTATIC.
Unfortunately, I realized it was a mistake. Since they already announced the winner (and it wasn't me), I contacted their customer service to let them know. They asked that I return the SE535's and provided a prepaid postage slip.
Sometimes doing the right thing can be a bummer :/ I was really curious how a pair of $500 earphones would sound too.
tl;dr - Mistakenly received the SE535's and notified Massdrop, will be sending them back ASAP.
Oh. My. God. It was a mistake??? I feel terrible now... I don't have the cash to buy them and I already opened them thinking it was intentional... I feel like utter garbage now.
You didn't know, don't feel bad.
Not going to lie, I was super excited to find out what $500 earbuds sounded like. Guess I'll never know :/
Don't, it wasn't your mistake, it was theirs. Someone on their end messed up and sent you the wrong item. It coincidentally lined up with your postage mistake so seemed like it was on purpose. It wasn't blatantly obvious like ptsmith31's case.
That, and, honestly I feel like mistakes like this are totally up to you to decide the outcome of. I wouldn't fault anyone for either side.
